In the face of increasing risks of information security, about 85% of organizations faced a breaking of the corporate network in this or that volume in 2017, while in most of cases the classic firewall was installed and correctly configured. Now it is obvious that attacks on the network become multidimensional, they trace the "context", which classical firewalls cannot analyze. One of the means of protection against such threats is the next generation firewalls (NGFW). The purpose of this master's thesis is to determine the significance of introducing a new generation firewall into the information infrastructure of a large company. During the research, the structure of the information security system of the information system, the model of threats and the violator, the main decisions on the Russian market of firewalls of the new generation, their advantages and disadvantages, their comparison with the choice of the optimal for use in the information system, as well as possible directions further development and improvement of firewalls of the new generation. Based on the results of the work, the urgency and expediency of introducing a new generation firewall into the information system of a large company is established. Considering the increasing risks of information security, NGFW-systems will not only displace classical firewalls, but also become the "information security center" of companies, in some cases even replacing traditional endpoint security systems, for example, antivirus. Thus, organizations that do not yet have a firewall need to look first at NGFW solutions, and companies that have a classic firewall in their structure are recommended, considering the calculation of the business case, to think over the transition to next-generation solutions.
