This paper is devoted to the patterns of intergenerational cohesion in neighbouring communities on the example of neighbouring centers of Moscow. The term “cohesion” was defined on the base of the theory of social capital by R. Patnem. During the research we found out that neighbouring centers promote the development of civil infrastructure by means of weak ties’ extension between neighbours and local organizations and the creation of tolerant neighbouring environment. Intergenerational cohesion in the neighbouring center is closely connected with the problem of continuity and younger generations’ socialization. As the activities of neighbouring centers are based on members’ initiatives, it shows the formation of civic consciousness and the transmission of the common good values from the older generation to the younger one. Further the results can be partly used to deal with the problems connected with the community management and the cohesion in neighbouring and city communities.
