Representation of Problems of Poor Families with Many Children in Media: Poverty, Social Support, Employment

This paper is devoted to the study of representation of the image of poor large families in the Russian media, in particular, the problems of socio-economic situation and ways of solving them. The main vectors of the empirical research are: poverty, social support, employment. The author analyzes the features of the situation families with many children in Russia: the legislative framework of state policy, the problems of large families, and the effectiveness of social support measures. The concept of poverty and ways of its measurement are revealed. The paper describes the methodological traditions of texts qualitative analysis, in particular, qualitative content analysis and critical discourse analysis, the features of internet-media discourses. The author conducted the collection and stage-by-stage preparation of secondary data (electronic publications) for quantitative and qualitative analysis of texts. The ways of representation of socio-economic problems of large families, depending on the topic under discussion and the author's occupation are analyzed in detail. The result of this research is a description of the discourses of various actors broadcasting by internet-media.
