The need to create a project office is steadily growing, as evidenced by the results of regular studies of the Project Management Institute (PMI). Today, it becomes obvious that on the basis of the "framework" methodology contained in the standards of project management, a corporate methodology should be created that facilitates the systematization of the main provisions, requirements, principles and practices of project management, taking into account the specifics of the companies' activities. The tool for improving the project management of the company is the project office or project management office. In this study, an algorithm has been developed for implementing a project management office in a financial sector company based on benchmarking results and a series of semi-structured interviews. This algorithm includes three stages: initiation, design and implementation. This algorithm will be of interest to specialists planning to implement a project office or to improve an existing one.
