Consulting Company Knowledge Management System Design Methodology Development

This work consists of 3 chapters. In the first chapter the subject area of knowledge management and intellectual capital is detailed, the available platforms for knowledge management development are analyzed, and the stages and complexities developers face with that during a knowledge management system development are described. In the second chapter, the processes and instruments for knowledge management in the consulting companies ITPS and EAE-Consult are analyzed. In the third chapter the existing techniques for knowledge management systems design are analyzed, and the own knowledge management methodology is presented; it was approved for the system’s design in the reviewed consulting companies. The novelty of the work is to develop a new methodology for a knowledge management system’s design. Practical significance of the research consists in using the developed methodology in any company (not only consulting) in the knowledge management system’s development at the stage of its design. The work result is the methodology of knowledge system’s design, which consists of stages and its description that is necessary to perform in a knowledge management system’s design. The methodology result is a project solution for a knowledge management system’s development that can be transferred to the immediate developers of the system.
