Development of Protein Identification Method

Student: Singh Lovepreet

Supervisor: Aleksandr I. Panov

Faculty: Faculty of Computer Science

Educational Programme: Data Analysis for Biology and Medicine (Master)

Year of Graduation: 2018

It is known that a human protein has a unique amino acid sequence within the genome, according to which it can be identified. Therefore, having a quantitative proteomic analysis of the region in known protein, it can be determined whether the desired protein contains the same unique sequence. This problem is still solved by bioinformatics manually. In this case, the purpose of this work is to automate the process of analyzing a biological sample that has a number of different proteins. The algorithm is aimed to construct a classification model, based on a sample with the results of an expert. This work is aimed at the analysis of proteomic or other bio-medical data in the fields of bioinformatics and information technology in medicine. The results of this work were published at the conferences "The Annual Scientific Meeting CLINICAL PROTEOMICS. POSTGENOME MEDICINE ", which was held in Moscow from October 30 to November 1, 2017," Information and Telecommunication Technologies and Mathematical Modeling of High-Tech Systems: Materials All-Russian Conference with International Participation ", which was held in Moscow from April 16 to 20, 2018," Fifth All-Russian Scientific conference of young scientists with international participation "Informatics, Management and System Analysis", which runs from 6 to 8 June 2018.

Student Theses at HSE must be completed in accordance with the University Rules and regulations specified by each educational programme.

Summaries of all theses must be published and made freely available on the HSE website.

The full text of a thesis can be published in open access on the HSE website only if the authoring student (copyright holder) agrees, or, if the thesis was written by a team of students, if all the co-authors (copyright holders) agree. After a thesis is published on the HSE website, it obtains the status of an online publication.

Student theses are objects of copyright and their use is subject to limitations in accordance with the Russian Federation’s law on intellectual property.

In the event that a thesis is quoted or otherwise used, reference to the author’s name and the source of quotation is required.
