Methodology for Evaluating the Motivation of Entry-level Specialists to Take Online-courses

Mass open online courses is a new phenomenon that appeared recently within the Institute of Education, but has already taken its place. MOOCs attract a variety of students, each with different motivations and experience. This study is an overview of the various approaches to measuring the motivation of entry-level specialists to take Online courses. The study developed and tested an instrument that contains some concepts from the SRL methodology and some from the methodology for analyzing the motivation of learning by Glynn. Developed instrument shows a high percentage of internal consistency of judgments and its reliability. It was found by EFA that "Motivation to take online courses" can be measured by the following concepts: Growing Interest, Self-efficacy:Planning, External motivation, Self-determination, Help Seeking.
