Women Entrepreneurs of the Russian Megapolis within the Framework of the Russian Gender Order

This research paper examines the impact of economic transformations and transformations of gender and family relations on the biographical project of women entrepreneurs. The purpose of this work is to determine the problematization of professional perspectives and personal life of women entrepreneurs. The research tasks are to analyze the classical and modern theoretical basis, to reveal the main transformations of gender and family relations, to study the social portrait of the female entrepreneur in Russia, to determine the actual gender contracts, to identify the problems that self-employed women face in dealing with men. This work consists of three parts: introduction, theoretical and empirical parts and conclusion. Introduction includes the urgency of the problem, the formulation of the research question and an introduction to the topic of the work. The main part consists of analyzing the sociological theoretical basis and comparing it with the realities of the current situation. The empirical part includes 11 semi-structured interviews and the qualitative analysis. The sample includes respondents selected by the snowball method. According to the results of the study, it is permissible to conclude that women who engage in entrepreneurial activities experience difficulties in combining professional perspectives and personal life. Difficulties are mainly related to gender-conflict, the balancing of time and emotional resources, the difference in income.
