Justification of the Technical Task for the Project on Consumer Protection from Penetration of Low-Quality Food Products into Retail Trade

Participants in the modern food supply chain are trying to save on the quality of products as much as possible. The emergence of problems related to food safety, primarily leads to an increased risk of poisoning and the acquisition of possible diseases from potential consumers. The object of this study is a product tracking system in retail trade. The subject of the study is the activities of organizations to implement project management systems. The main method used in this study is an interview conducted with representatives of the food industry. Each interview asked questions about the traceability system: the technologies that are currently used, the costs of implementing them and the key factors that influenced the success of the project. The first chapter provides information on the relevance of the problem of low-quality food in the Russian Federation. The second chapter reveals the main elements of the traceability system and the features of implementation on examples of foreign countries. The third chapter describes the current problems in the implementation of projects related to product quality control in the Russian Federation, the main recommendations and analysis of potential benefits.
