Nowadays the research of migrant employment in Moscow as one of the most economically developed region of Russia is vitally important. According to the data of Main Directorate for Migration Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, the most common sectors of employment are building industry, service business and trading. Thus, I examined the features of employment of migrant from post-Soviet states on the example of Burger King company as one of the key stay-holders of catering trade sector. Primary data source for research is restricted information of Burger King company about its 60 restaurants in Moscow. I conducted the analysis of features of employment and career building of migrants from post-Soviet states in Burger King. For deep analysis of factors that contribute to the career building, I have been interviewing 15 respondents, who are migrants from post-Soviet states and staff members of Burger King company and have an experience of career promotion. The study was aimed to bring to light on the specific of employment and career building of staff members, depending on their citizenship. The results of study shown the existence of substantial differences between operating staff members of company who have a citizenship and who are migrants. So, staff members from Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus have the more «favourable situation» in comparison with staff members from Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kirghizia as the first ones have the lower level of intensity of labor. The results also demonstrated the essential concentration of staff members who are Russian citizens among the administrative and managerial staff. Based on the staffing statistics and opinions of interviewed migrant-staff members, I may conclude that the citizenship of staff members has an impact on the success of their career building, shown thought the longer «career trajectory» of migrants from post-Soviet states in comparisons with staff members who have a citizenship of Russia.
