Year of Graduation: 2018

The overwhelming number of studies are devoted to the linguistic and cultural aspects of translation, while power relations and manifestation of the ideological attitudes of the translator are not researched sufficiently. With the development of discourse theory in humanities, many linguistic studies turned to the anthropocentric approach. In this academic environment developed the linguistic personality theory. Yuri Karaulov, the author of this theory, described the phenomenon and developed a model that is actively used by researchers to describe the idiolect. However, the demand for the theory requires the development of new methods for describing the linguistic personality i.e. methods of corpus linguistics used in this work may contribute to the development of a new analysis approach of the cognitive and motivational levels of the linguistic personality.
