The dissertation is devoted to the problem of consolidating beginners in the profession. The paper presents new original tools for managing the adaptation and professional development of young professionals. The theoretical part provides a critical review of international and Russian experience in supporting young personnel in education; provides an analysis of the latest theories of organizational management. The practical part of the study was implemented in the framework of the educational project “New Teacher for Yaroslavl”. As a result of studying the professional priorities and values of the new generation of teaching staff, the current “Portrait of a young teacher of Yaroslavl” was modeled. These studies have identified the need to transform the existing management programs for adaptation. The principal novelty of the proposed approach lies in drawing on the experience of leading commercial companies in working with a new generation of employees. The goal of the project is to assess the possibilities of transferring to education the tools of the theory of involvement, one of the most popular theories of personnel management. It is proposed to use an personel development plan (IPR) as the main tool for working with young teachers,. There were in the framework of the project, the plan constructor, which was developed and tested, instructions for filling out and analysis and the advantages and possible disadvantages of working with the PDP. A key advantage of the theory of engagement is the presence of an assessment tool - the Q12 index, developed by Gallup. The paper presents a variant of Q12 adapted for education, with which it is possible to assess the success of engaging a young specialist in the profession. The materials of the research project may be of practical interest for the all those who work with young personnel and are interested in their professional development: leaders of educational organizations, methodological services, education authorities.
