Nowadays homeopathy is one of the most popular alternative method of treatment in the world. However, it was not so popular before. Throughout history, homeopathy has occupied a marginal position in the health care system of many countries and has not been recognized in society. Currently, in many Western countries, homeopathy is in demand and officially included in the compulsory health insurance. In Russia, the situation is different. Homeopathy still occupies a marginal position. At the same time, a large percentage of people use this method of treatment. Who are these people who are treated with homeopathy? Why do they turn to this method and use it as a treatment? This paper is devoted to this topic about the factors associated with the use of complementary and alternative medicine in the case of homeopathy. The aim of the study is to identify the factors of the use of homeopathy in modern Russia and adherence to homeopathy as a method of treatment. This research paper reviews theoretical approaches to this problem and analysis of empirical studies, a secondary analysis of a database on health behavior and the demand for medical services. Moreover, the own empirical material based on interviews was analyzed.
