Understanding of Uncertainty and Attitudes Toward Uncertainty

Student: Mosina Daria

Educational Programme: Psychology (Bachelor)

Year of Graduation: 2019

The phenomenon of tolerance for uncertainty emerged in the 1950s. The modern world is characterized by complexity and dynamic processes with the universal presence of uncertainty. The confirmed hypothesis is that internal representations of uncertainty verbally reflected in generic themes are related to the indicators of tolerance/intolerance for uncertainty measured by questionnaires. What is more, the investigation is focused on the preposition whether the understanding of uncertainty is similar within individuals who have matching (vs. different) scores on the scales. The present study is designed to shed new light on the understanding of uncertainty and attitudes towards uncertainty.
