The Russian economy is still characterized by a high degree of import dependence. This particularly applies to the pharmaceutical industry in Russia. The basis for this is a very low proportion of domestic drugs for all drugs on the Russian pharmaceutical market. Moreover, very often in Russia there are cases of violation of the antimonopoly rules, namely, unjustified economically overpricing of the prices of medicines, which reduces their availability to the public and reduces the level of fair competition in the market. Due to the fact that the problems of the pharmaceutical industry are national, highly significant social problems that directly affect national security, the state policy in the development of the pharmaceutical industry and drug provision of the population is extremely important. The effectiveness of this policy allows you to improve the socio-economic indicators of the Russian economy in general and the drug sector in particular. The effectiveness of this policy is based on the import substitution and sustainability of the Russian pharmaceutical industry.
