We live in a time of the fast rise of new technologies that strongly influence on our lives and the way we run business. The developed countries are on the path of building digital economies. One of the main enablers of the digitalization is connectivity: connecting people with each other and connecting objects with other objects. The number of connected people and devices grow exponentially year after year. There is a high pressure on the telecommunication services providers for the best in class connectivity: both when we talk about people and Internet of Things (IoT) – both demand the faster, reliable and cost-efficient solutions. From another perspective, there is a rising competition in the telecommunication industry due to the new entrants that disrupt the market. Telecommunication companies have to digitally transform themselves in order to stay competitive and offer innovative solutions to the market. The digital transformation has become a significant phenomenon both in the business and academic worlds in recent years. The major interest to this topic has been coming from the practitioners, while the scientific community lags behind. The business players seek for the ways of doing the digital transformation successfully in order to achieve great results. In this master thesis we will try to identify what are the critical successful factors for digital transformation of telecommunication companies. This research should contribute to both practitioners and academia. To answer this question, the systematic literature review will be conducted in order to create this critical success factors list and further it will be validated with the digital transformation experience of one of the world’s largest telecommunication providers.
