This paper is devoted to assessing the demand of petroleum products such as gasoline and diesel fuel. One of the considered methods is the acceptance of the volume of fuel shipment in wholesale trade as a demand for goods of oil refineries. Also, a short-term forecast of shipment by districts of the Russian Federation was proposed using the moving average method and autoregression. An alternative method is to consider the average demand from the users - drivers of buses, trucks, cars., owners, tenants, or in the case of hired drivers - companies that hire them.
