International Instruments on Athletes’ and Coaches’ Labor

The purpose of this work is to comprehensively review the international legal acts on which the labor regulation of athletes and coaches is based. To achieve the objectives, the following tasks were defined: 1. Expand the concept of international labor standards and give them a classification; 2. Determine the forms of expression of international labor standards and on the basis of this give the concept of international labor acts; 3. To analyze the stages of formation and development of international legal regulation of labor relations; 4. To identify the system of special international normative legal acts on the work of athletes and coaches; 5. Describe the international standards on the regulation of labor of athletes and coaches; 6. Designate the legal nature and peculiarities of international acts on the work of athletes and coaches; 7. To consider the main problems of the implementation of international acts on the work of athletes and coaches in practice; 8. To determine the degree of interaction of international acts on the work of athletes and coaches with the national Russian legislation; 9. To develop and formulate on the basis of the conducted research proposals and recommendations aimed at improving the current legal regulation in the implementation of sports activities by athletes and coaches. It is concluded that the legal regulation of sports in general and the legal regulation of the work of athletes and coaches, in particular, needs harmonization and unification. At present, the solution of this problem is the cornerstone concept of a complete settlement of the sphere of relations under consideration. The author believes that the possibility of solving this problem as soon as possible depends not only on state authorities, international organizations, international sports federations, but also requires the active participation of the athletes and coaches to respect the legitimate interests of each of the parties.
