Following a change in the consumption structure in the service sector, Russian telecommunications market is rapidly evolving. The most prosperous companies in the industry are forced to reconsider their development path due to the falling share of traditional voice services in their revenues. Diversification of modern telecommunications companies’ product portfolio does not allow researchers to use traditional indicators to analyze industry, which creates many challenges for them. The emphasis of this study was placed on analyzing the determinants of the development of the Russian market and on modeling the growth dynamics of domestic companies. The author’s scheme for selecting the macroeconomic indicators of telecommunications development was created within the study, according to which the countries were divided into two groups. Based on the regression analysis in clusters for the Russian market, the most significant determinants of development for the coming years were selected. With the help of ARIMA models and the vector error correction model (VECM) competition within the industry had been analyzed, and a development forecast up to 2024 had been made.
