Contradictions in the Verdict of Jurors as a Ground for Repealing a Court Judgment

The project is devoted to the problem of contradictions in the verdict of jurors as a reason for repealing a court judgment. Gaps in legislative regulation in practice lead to the cancellation of sentences based on the jury’s verdict. The paper provides examples and analyzes the positions of national courts. As a result of the analysis, the main reasons for repealing a court judgment based on contradictory verdict of jurors are revealed, and proposals are made to amend the existing criminal procedure legislation in order to increase the effectiveness of the application of these provisions.
