Research problem In the post 2000s the Andean countries of Ecuador and Bolivia, have been introducing a new constitutional approach to reframe public policy. Reforms enshrined in laws integral sustainable development that prioritize environmental and people’s rights, particularly women’s rights. These constitutional and legal reforms were rooted in the Quechua cosmovision of ‘Sumak Kawsay’ (Good living). Due to the aforementioned factors the food policy making processes and changes have been started. Initially from 2007 in Bolivia and one year later in Ecuador, onward and then drastically between 2013- 2017. Transformations enforced due to the participation of different actors, among them women involvement in indigenous and peasant’s grassroots movements. Based on alternative philosophies as ecofeminist perspectives. The challenges faced by women’s grassroots movements contesting the power structures on the adoption of food sovereignty policies in the Andean countries of Bolivia and Ecuador post 2000s?
