Scenarios of Constructing Femininity by Young Women in Saint Petersburg

Femininity is a complex social construct that is constantly being rethought and transformed by various social and cultural factors. One such factor may be the growing popularity of the feminist movement in Russia, which nevertheless faces opposition in the form of feminism opponents. The subject of the is femininity and its practices and interpretations associated with it. Based on 20 interviews with feminists and anti-feminists, two main scenarios for the realization of femininity were identified: a scenario that transforms the conventions on femininity and a scenario that supports the conventions on femininity.
