Regulation of Parental Involvement in the Educational Process (on the Example of Gorchakov School)

In the practice of school management, carefully regulated parental involvement can significantly improve students' performance, social adaptation, attendance, and so on. This master's thesis analyzes the regulation of parental involvement in the process of students' education. The thesis begins with a literature review of the problems arising from the implementation and practice of regulating parental involvement. Then, the existing literature is compared with the cases of several Russian schools (Chapter 1). Using adopted semi-structured interview schedule 67 interviews with teachers, headteacher and administrators, parents and students was collected. Then using thematic analysis the managerial, pedagogical and socio-psychological aspects of regulating parental involvement are characterized with the example of a private boarding school for boys. The goal of this study is to develop recommendations for the positive and successful regulation of parental involvement in the education process, described in both the literature and identified during the study (Chapter 2).
