Ukraine’s Entry into Russia in the XVII Century in the Modern Course of History at School

A.S. Murzabulatov’s graduation work on the topic “Ukraine's entry into Russia in the 17th century in the modern course of history at school” consists of an introduction, two chapters, a conclusion, a list of sources and literature used, and one appendix. The first chapter includes an analysis of domestic pre-Soviet and Soviet historiography of the XX century, post-Soviet Russian and Ukrainian historiography of the XX-XXI centuries. on the issue under study and a comparative analysis of the content of modern school history books of Russia and Ukraine. In the second chapter, a draft series of lessons for students on the topic of Ukraine's entry into Russia in the 17th century is developed. The purpose of the study is to identify current trends in the study of Ukraine’s entry into Russia in the 17th century and their integration into the school history course in the form of a methodological development of the lesson. Tasks of the final qualifying work, allowing to achieve the goal of the study: 1. Actualization of the problem of Ukraine’s entry into Russia in the 17th century in domestic pre-Soviet and Soviet historiography of the 20th century, post-Soviet Russian and Ukrainian historiography of the XX-XXI centuries. 2. A comparative analysis of the content of the material on the issue of Ukraine's entry into Russia in the 17th century in Russian and Ukrainian school history textbooks. 3. Analysis of the options for methodological developments on the topic of Ukraine's entry into Russia in the 17th century. 4. Development of a draft lesson for schoolchildren on the topic of Ukraine's entry into Russia in the 17th century. In the course of the study, the historical genetic method, the content analysis method, comparative and biographical methods were used. The use of the historical genetic method is due to a study of the events of 1654, their causes and development (consequences). Content analysis and a comparative method are tools for researching the content of scientific and educational literature of the XX-XXI centuries. on the topic under study. Analysis of the historiography of Russia and Ukraine of the XX-XXI centuries. on the studied problem, he showed the evolution of approaches to its consideration: from several approaches at the beginning of the 20th century, exploring the nature of Ukraine’s entry into Russia in the 17th century (a temporary combination or reunion of two peoples), to a wide range of approaches in the latest historiography of Russia and Ukraine, exploring not only the nature of accession, but also related issues (political and legal status, the views of contemporaries, mythologization and denial of the events of 1654). A comparative analysis of the content of the material on the issue of Ukraine's entry into Russia in the 17th century in Russian and Ukrainian school history textbooks showed the difference in positions on the topic under study in the school history course of both states. An analysis of the options for methodological developments (their advantages and disadvantages) on the topic of Ukraine’s entry into Russia in the 17th century made it possible to propose as a development a project of a comprehensive lesson that includes elements of various methodological developments. The project of the lesson implies an independent layout by the teacher of individual elements of various methodological developments (blocks), based on the planned educational results: an introduction lesson, working with an online resource, a movie club, a quiz and a discussion club. The practical significance of this study for the school course in Russian history consists in preparing research directions for the problem of Ukraine’s entry into Russia in the 17th century for students as part of project activities and developing guidelines for a series of classes on the topic under study.
