Annotation Theme of graduate qualification work " Confiscation as a Criminal Law Measure". Author: A.A. Sarkisyan The urgency of the chosen theme of research is that the tense criminogenic situation in the Russian Federation remains, especially with regard to crimes of corruption, terrorism and extremism. The confiscation of property is an effective means of combating this type of criminal activity. This has been proven by existing domestic practices developed to date and by the views of developed and developing countries. In addition, the current institution of confiscation in the Russian Federation has enough problems that are currently being made public and should be investigated in order to improve the regulation and application of this criminal law measure. The object of the study is social relations arising and developing on the basis of the appointment, application and execution of confiscation of property. The subject of the study is the regulatory legal acts governing the procedure for the appointment and execution of confiscation of property. The study consists of an introduction, three chapters divided into 18 paragraphs, a conclusion and a list of sources used. Results of the research: A comprehensive study of confiscation of property as another measure of criminal nature has been conducted. The history of the formation of confiscation and its current position in the criminal legislation was analyzed. A number of problems in questions of appointment of confiscation of property by courts, definition of its legal nature have been revealed. Comparative research of confiscation of property in foreign countries and on the territory of the Russian Federation, and also possibility of its return as a measure of punishment in the criminal legislation was carried out.
