The growing dynamics of such processes as globalization and urbanization inevitably lead to the modernization of the urban environment and the external structure of megacities. When speaking about modern urban development policies, the term “gentrification” is increasingly used, which in a broad sense means the renovation and revitalization of poor and disadvantaged areas of the city. The consequences of such changes affect not only the way people live, but also the way they look. The environment and the surroundings have always been predominant factors in shaping the human image. That is why it is appropriate to speak of gentrification as a source of research for a clothing collection. Many contemporary designers choose the diversity of urban shapes and landscapes as a source of inspiration to create not only their clothing collections, but also the brand as a whole. For example, Virgil Ablo's "Off-White" brand is characterized by the use of prints imitating wall surfaces and graffiti in clothing. It is even more interesting to observe the phenomenon under study while being in Russia. The housing policy of the Soviet Union, carried out for seventy years, strongly separated our country from the experience of the West, forming unique examples of gentrification.
