In this study, it will be revealed what role the experience of international academic mobility plays in the subsequent migration to the country of the internship. We assume that a negative or positive experience in an internship, such as useful contacts, traumatic situations, a block of stereotypes, etc, directly affects the continued intention to stay in a country where academic mobility has been carried out. Thus, to prove this theory, we will analyze the interviews of students who have been on an internship for more than 6 months. As a method for analyzing responses, we selected a method for analyzing a script obtained by recording the respondents' answers to the recorder. In order to avoid inaccuracies in the answers, which can then affect the analysis of the data, in addition to a ready-made list of questions, clarifying questions will be asked to fully reveal the meaning of the respondents' answers. The reason why a qualitative survey is chosen instead of a quantitative one is that a qualitative interview allows you to fully evaluate the respondents' answers and get them in a more reasoned way An interview will also be held with the international HSE department to identify common problems with students during the internship. Due to the lack of research on international academic mobility and further migration in Russia and Japan, the results of this analysis will give an accurate understanding of the problem of the lack of migration to Russia from Japan and vice versa and whether there is a connection between the experience of international academic mobility and immigration. Migration implies not only the influx of foreign citizens, but also labor, and speaking of students, in the future highly skilled labor. Therefore, the lack of exchange of academic staff between countries can lead to stagnation in the field of education and science.
