thesis in the topic of ASEAN : The Ecological Dimension from the Mekong Issue Perspective. the study aim to outline the origin of the environmental problem and water conflict in the downstream Mekong River, consisted of four ASEAN nations, namely, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam, and to assess the impacts on the ecosystem and environment in each country along the river. Also, the article will estimate a worst-case scenario that could happen to the river in order to suggest this massive regional problem, which will require cooperation within and outside the region. The study use new regionalism and Neo-functionalism to explain the events in the region and investigate the existing organizations in the Lower Mekong Region, in order to develop an empirical narration of sustainable development practice in Southeast Asia.
