According to Rosstat, the total amount of receivables in Russia for 2018 amounted to more than 46.6 trillion. rubles. The President of the Russian Federation and other political figures have repeatedly drawn attention to the problem of managing receivables in state-owned companies and enterprises with state-owned share. Ineffective receivables management forces companies to resort to additional loans and borrowings to finance their own activities. However, despite the availability of receivables management tools, public sector companies are in no hurry to use them. At the same time, effective management of receivables can not only provide the companies themselves with the additional liquidity necessary to finance their own growth, optimize business processes, reduce costs, improve the level of service and use new investment opportunities, but can also significantly replenish budget revenues. This work comprehensively approaches the receivables management process. The study considers the possibility of using a wide range of tools in order to improve the efficiency of companies' receivables management for both all sectors and for a specific company in the Russian energy sector. The results of this work show that the use of a set of measures to manage receivables can increase the efficiency of managing this financial asset.
