The choice and the reflection separately have received wide attention in among psychologists. However, relatively little information is available about the interconnection between choice activity and reflection. The specific objective of the study is to clarify the role of personal reflection in the process of choice. The research question focuses on providing a greater depth of knowledge about the role of reflection in different phases of choice activity. The main method of data collection is a semi-structural interview; the additional method is Differential Test of Reflection (DTR). Methods of data processing are holistic coding and in-vivo coding. The sample included 30 respondents. It was established, firstly, that phenomenological content of choice activity is more complex than initially expected, secondly, that reflection indeed can play either positive or negative role in the choice activity, thirdly, that reflection is not present during all phases of the choice cycle but rather only during some of them (not more than three) and, finally, that respondents with high scores on and medium systemic reflection type tend to notice positive role of reflection, while those with high scores on introspection more oftem notice negative role if reflection . The results may prove useful for further investigation of the choice process and its possible features.
