Year of Graduation: 2020

During last year the topic of social capital has steadily entered in the circle of the main interests of both the Russian and the international sociological community and also became frequently discussed in everyday language. It is being assumed as “something of a cure-all for the maladies affecting society at home and abroad”. (Portes, A. (1998). Social Capital: Its Origins and Applications in Modern Sociology. Annual Review of Sociology 24, 1-24). In the research is studied a connection between social capital and prosperity. The main purpose of my master thesis is to find out, if there is a connection between social capital and prosperity. In this master thesis I want to check the hypothesis, that: the hypothesis, that in Russia, people, possessing social capital, are having higher incomes.
