The graduation thesis is devoted to the analysis of the didactic potential of youth novels. The relevance of this work is due to the fact that the genre of "youth novel" is poorly studied, but at the same time acts as a rich didactic material that can and should be used in educational work with the younger generation, including in the framework of classes in foreign languages. The purpose of the work is to analyze youth novels and highlight their educational potential. The research is based on novels in English and German (W. Herrndorf «Tschick» and B. A. Sáenz «Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe»). The theoretical significance of the work is due to the fact that the research material contributes to the deepening of ideas about the features of the functioning of the youth language in fiction, as well as revealing the didactic potential of works of this genre, their educational, educational and motivating value. The practical value of the work consists in using the obtained data in courses on text theory, linguistic and stylistic analysis of a literary text (in German and English), reading in a foreign language (in English and German), as well as in a course on the methodology of teaching foreign languages. The study analyzed: a) the language component of novels at the lexical, grammatical and stylistic levels; b) the relevance of the raised issues and the need to discuss with the younger generation. In conclusion, the main results of the research concerning the didactic potential of youth novels are formulated. This graduation thesis offers several lexical-stylistic exercises, questions for discussion, and topics for writing essays and performing group projects.
