Working Out of Coaching Support for Russian Railways

The master's thesis is focused to the topic of corporate training for mentors in organizations. Its purpose is to develop a training program for the training of mentors at Russian Railways. The final qualification work has a design type, and its practical part has significance for the company, since the study was carried out in accordance with its current need and tasks. To achieve this goal, a number of theoretical and practical tasks were performed in this graduate work. First of all, theoretical sources on the topic of mentoring in modern organizations and training as a tool in the corporate training of mentors were studied. In addition, in the practical part of the dissertation for the development of the training program, the activities of Russian Railways, its structure and the existing mentoring institute were described in detail. Based on the study, the need for improving the training system for employees of working specialties in all branches of the company was identified. Training should be based on the psychological and pedagogical features of mentoring. On the basis of the company research, the content of the training program “Mentor. Reboot” which consists of four consecutive information blocks was developed. Each block contains techniques for providing information and skills development tools selected in accordance with the objectives of the training. In the process of preparation the practical part, a study was conducted of the existing mentoring system at Russian Railways in all major Central Directorates of the 16 regional branches of the company. Information was collected using the method of focused interviews with key participants in the process: mentors and trainees. The study involved 2878 employees of working specialties of Russian Railways. Data was also collected on the current mentoring system by analyzing company regulatory documents and a semi-structured interview with an employee of the personnel management service. The result of the work was a universal training program for training mentors of working specialties in all branches of Russian Railways. Training on all 16 railways of Russian Railways is planned for the 4th quarter of 2020.
