During the process of technology development, new phenomena appear that change the nature of labor activity in many professions and can potentially affect the gender pay gap. One of these new phenomena is digitalization. The paper considers the impact of the development of digital skills among men and women on the level of remuneration in both groups. Digitalization is seen as a potential reason that can explain part of the gender pay gap in Russia. The paper investigates the existence of the influence of digital skills on reducing the gender gap, as well as the possible causes and characteristics of such an impact. Therefore, the study addresses issues such as whether the digital characteristics of women are better than men; whether the return on these characteristics is greater than that of men; how the effects of digitalization on the gender pay gap change over time.
