The Problems of Organization of the Educational Process in Hospital Schools (An Example of Schools of the "LearnKnow" project)

Along with medical rehabilitation of children with long-term inpatient treatment, academic rehabilitation is of great importance. Hospital schools are constantly evolving and sharing experiences around the world. In Russia, one of the most significant projects for educating children in a medical institution is «UchimZnaem». The presented work is a project and consists of pre-design research and the empirical part. The aim is to develop a typology of professional and personal characteristics of teachers working in hospital schools of the «UchimZnaem» project. The first chapter is devoted to the theoretical basis of the study - the history of hospital pedagogy, the features of the work of hospital teachers and their role in the life of children with long-term in-patient treatment. The second chapter presents a discourse analysis of the professional positions of hospital educators of the schools of the «UchimZnaem» project. The discourse analysis was carried out on the basis of in-depth interviews conducted with hospital teachers of the «UchimZnaem» project schools in Moscow and Russian regions. The third chapter describes the results of the study. The main result of the work is a developed typology of professional positions of hospital teachers of the schools of the «UchimZnaem» project. The results of the study can serve as the main one for the development of a support system for school teachers of the project.
