In Kazym dialect of Khanty language there are a lot of means for expressing epistemic and non-epistemic modality. Current work focuses on semantics of lexemes and analytical constructions. The aim of this work is to describe the semantic field of Kazym Khanty modality, putting it in the typological perspective. Using data collected in fieldtrips to Kazym village in Russia, more precise meanings for some of the lexemes are provided, as well as the semantic map of modality for Kazym Khanty, which supports typological findings in the field of modality.
