This diploma thesis is devoted to the study of the connection between the phenomenon of localization and translation science, the stages of localization of the game world, the definition and description of errors that linguists may encounter when working with translation, as well as improving the existing tools for translating game components of the game. The research considers the theoretical foundations of translation, describes the phenomenon of computer games, localization of games and its components in great detail. The study also defines the concept of "translation error", characterizes the causes of translation errors. Moreover, the research attempts to combine existing classifications of translation errors. It is assumed that the final classification can be universally applicable in the context of translating subtitles of computer games from English to Russian. To demonstrate the effectiveness of this classification, the study demonstrates three created corpora, using computer files of the popular game series "The Witcher" ("The Witcher", "The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings", "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt"), with their subsequent analysis.
