The Challenges and perspectives of the higher education postgraduate staff in medicine

The study looks at the major problems and prospects of advanced personnel training in medicine. It includes a review of the literature focused on the assessment of effectiveness of Russian postgraduate training put through regulatory changes. The statistical data related to the trends in postgraduate medical training at various higher/further educational organizations and research institutions in Russian Federation and collected over a period from 2014 to 2019 years have been first analyzed, with emphasis placed on the region-sensitive aspects of academic personnel training in RF subjects. Using the survey data obtained from 356 postgraduate students taking full-time courses in medical sciences as the base, the major challenges that postgraduate students have to meet are highlighted. The study also describes a model to organize research activities aimed at improving the effectiveness of postgraduate studies.
