Educational Programme: Strategic Management in Logistics (Master)

Year of Graduation: 2021

The aim of this work is to improve demand forecasting approach for brewery manufacturers. The relevance of the chosen topic is explained by the fact that demand forecast is the basis for most decisions in business. The brewing industry is characterized by a pronounced seasonality, however, this does not make the process of demand forecasting much easier. The importance of an accurate forecast is also explained by the fact that the products are alcoholic and subject to excise taxes, which makes disposal of products after expiration dates even more expensive. In addition, the company in question is the largest manufacturer on the Russian market, with the company occupying the first place only for the second year; To maintain a leading market share, cost optimization, optimal logistics and the absence of lost sales are extremely important, which is directly related to the improvement of forecast accuracy.
