Puppet animation is one of the most complex and diverse of the traditional animation techniques. It has many features that distinguish it from all other types of animation. Often, the world of stop-motion animation confuses the viewer by the duality of feeling - on the one hand there is an immersion in a separate, non-existent reality, on the other hand, creates a very unusual sense of tactility of the image, because everything you shoot in puppet animation, was designed, sewn, glued together from known to us existing materials. So the line is slightly blurred between a clear recognition of what is real and what is not. Regarding the characters, because of some technical specificities of the puppet animation, the creators don't always have the possibility to show standard animation features, such as very pronounced facial expressions, metamorphosis, etc, that the viewer is accustomed to. To replace these principles come creative solutions in the creation of the dolls themselves - what material will be made of the character, how many will be interchangeable parts, what shape and so on. All these little details give the doll a character and a story, make it come alive. The author has chosen this animation technique for the study because it will be done in this graduation work. The key image in this film will be the image of fear, so it is the subject of this study in puppet animation.
