The research aims to examine the evolution of international relations and how states shape their diplomatic relations in case of political confrontations between the states which they are tied to by diplomatic treaties or alliance threaties. The main focus will be on the two superpowers, which are the United States of America and USSR/Russia. The timeline assessed is from the 1945 (the end of World War II) untill present days and the research will be mainly focused on major conflicts of the Cold War and the mostly highlited conflicts by politicians and scholars from the 21st century to further highlight the evolution of communication and conduct of international relations from the 20th century. The proposed method allows to use holistic approach in order to link and examine historical events to further evolution of international relations. Moreover, this study can develop our understanding of how possible future armed conflicts between states which are linked to major states with alliance threaties will be conducted and resolved in order to maintain international peace.
