Radio Broadcasting in Thailand: Development Trends and Current Status

This work is devoted to the research of the current state and trends in the development of radio broadcasting in Thailand. Thailand first learned about radio equipment in 1904. Radio broadcasting in Thailand aims to provide news, useful information, education and entertainment. Broadcasters have expanded their network to all provinces in Thailand and have many stations to send news to many listeners. In addition to being a fast-delivery news media, allowing listeners to receive news quickly and on time, it also has a low cost compared to other media. Listeners can choose to listen to many channels, such as listening from conventional radios, the Internet, and mobile phones. Moreover, the market conditions and broadcasting industry in Thailand is constantly changing, as is the behavior of the radio audience, which changes with the trend. The results of the broadcasting business are important to both the public and private sectors, which affects the economy and society of a country. In addition, broadcast media are seen as part of the environment that influences behavior, thoughts and beliefs. Radio is one of the most influential institutions in Thai society from the past to the present. This research aims to study history, identify trends in the development of radio broadcasting in Thailand and characterize the current state. This involves solving the following tasks: analyze the history of the creation of radio broadcasting in Thailand and determine the stages of its development, reveal the process of transition to digital radio, study the current state of radio broadcasting in Thailand, study Thai laws related to radio broadcasting in Thailand at present, disclose information about advertising and radio listeners to analyze future trends in Thailand and to analyze trends in the development of radio broadcasting in Thailand. In the result of research collected data on the evolution of broadcasting in Thailand prior to the digital switchover. It is also important for both the public and private sectors, affecting the economy and society of the country. In addition, broadcast media are viewed as part of the medium that influences behavior, thoughts and ideas. Radio is one of the most influential institutions in Thai society from the past to the present. The research “RADIO BROADCASTING IN THAILAND: DEVELOPMENT TRENDS AND CURRENT STATUS” is suitable for people interested in or studying radio broadcasting in Thailand about the evolution of broadcasting in Thailand, the digital transition, broadcasting laws in Thailand, the radio industry, the broadcasting market and the behavior of Thailand's radio listeners.
