Due to information technology, our lives are changing, and the former flagship of entertainment - television is experiencing serious competition from new platforms. The Internet borrows some of the traditional television formats, and as the entertainment genre is one of the most popular, special attention is paid to the adaptation of television entertainment programs. The purpose of this study is to identify the genre and format features of entertainment talk shows on television and on the YouTube platform, as well as to compare them. To achieve the goal, the following steps were taken: the stages of development of the talk show genre on Russian television were identified, the main characteristics and typologies of television talk shows were identified, the characteristics of the YouTube platform as a platform for posting professional audiovisual content were identified, criteria for a comparative analysis of talk shows on selected platforms, as well as identified similarities and differences among the studied talk shows. This study is based on a group of theoretical methods (including historical analysis, genre analysis, semiotic analysis, structural-functional analysis, comparative analysis, as well as the method of typology and classification) and empirical methods (observation and analysis of content, expert interviews). The empirical base of the research is the releases of the entertaining talk show "Vecherniiy Urgant" on "Pervyy Kanal", releases of the talk show "AGENTSHOW" on the TV channel "Pyatnitsa!!" and the YouTube channel "NASTYA IVLEEVA", as well as the episodes of the talk show "Comment Out" on the YouTube channel "Chicken Curry". As a result of studying the theoretical aspects, we formulated the criteria according to which a comparative analysis of entertainment talk shows on television and on the YouTube platform was carried out. We found that entertainment talk shows on the Internet platform and on television have a significant number of similar genre and format features, such as inviting star guests to the studio, interviews, discussions and games, studio design, logistics, advertising, and others.
