Threats and Benefits of Flexible Management Methodologies Implementation in International Banks Operating in Different Countries Exemplified by Raiffeisen Bank International

In the current work, we analyze the existing flexible management methodologies in comparison with the cascade approach and point out the most significant features of the Agile transformation in international banks, its advantages, disadvantages, and threats. In the first chapter of the master thesis, we analyze the theoretical background of the existing cascade and flexible management methodologies, their history and use in international companies and in banks in particular. In the second chapter of the master thesis, we focus on several case studies concerning flexible methodologies implementation in international banks: the case of Agile implementation in Raiffeisen Bank Russia, an interview with the former Head of IT Governance in Raiffeisen Bank Russia who was one of the leaders of the Agile transformation in the bank, the case of Agile implementation in Raiffeisen Bank Czech Republic, and the case of the Agile transformation in Citibank Russia. The third chapter of the paper is dedicated to the key findings based on the conducted research and the analyzed case studies and includes recommendations for the companies in the banking industry that could possibly come to the idea of Agile transformation.
