In the modern world, more and more multidirectional educational organizations appear, which are forced to constantly compete with each other, improving the quality of the educational services provided. At the same time, the role of the selection process for teaching staff is growing. At school, there are close informal relationships in the teaching staff, therefore, when selecting, the leader must always compare the personal characteristics of the candidate with the specifics of relationships in the existing team so that the new employee does not destroy these ties. However, each team has a special relationship, each organization has its own principles of development. Therefore, it is difficult for the manager to define clear characteristics of the assessment in the selection process. Moreover, in Russia there is a large shortage of teaching staff, which greatly limits the number of candidates and causes difficulties in selection. The reason for this deficit is the discrepancy between the level of workload of teachers and the level of wages, which in turn affects the desire of people to choose the profession of a teacher. The purpose of my research is to use a comprehensive analysis of the personnel selection process to determine the characteristics of this process in secondary schools, to identify problems affecting teaching staff and to suggest possible solutions to these problems. Based on the results of a content analysis of publications in the media and a questionnaire survey of 30 school teachers, problems were identified in the selection of teachers in schools and recommendations for their solutions were offered.
