Educational Programme: Business Informatics (Bachelor)

Year of Graduation: 2021

The COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 has had a profound impact on many of our daily activities. In particular, for teaching students who were forced to reorganize to obtain knowledge online in the shortest possible time. The desire to adapt to new learning conditions leads to the search for innovative solutions that will help reduce the routine of processes and increase the productivity of students. Distance learning opens up new opportunities for building educational processes. This qualified graduate work is aimed at creating methods and recommendations for building distance learning using emerging technologies. The assumption of an increase in the effectiveness of students in connection with the use of virtual reality technologies is tested by conducting the practical part of the study, consisting of interview and an experiment. During the experiment, the design thinking methodology was integrated into the process, focused on creating innovative solutions. The aim of the work is to develop methods for constructing distance learning using virtual reality technologies and to analyze the influence of emerging technologies on the assimilation of the material and productivity. In accordance with the set goal, the following tasks were solved in the work: 1. The analysis of existing methods of building distance learning, platforms for interaction between teachers and students, an assessment of the feasibility of educational interaction on these platforms. 2. The analysis of emerging technologies is carried out, which is necessary to select the most optimal technology for implementation in the processes of building distance learning. 3. Various platforms of virtual reality were analyzed, the best platform for the experiment was chosen. 4. An experiment was carried out, which is the construction of classical learning processes using virtual reality technology, the results were obtained and analyzed at the end of the experiment. 5. A substantiated recommendation was given on methods of constructing distance learning using virtual reality technologies, and the feasibility of introducing virtual reality was demonstrated. 6. An approach and description of the processes of constructing distance learning using virtual reality technologies has been developed. In the course of the study, the features of distance education were considered and an overview of virtual reality technologies and the market for these technologies was made. Moreover, the prospects for the development of virtual reality technologies during integration into educational processes were analyzed and investigated. Practical confirmation of the hypotheses was carried out through an experiment using the virtual environment program "Rumii" and virtual reality devices "Oculus Go". The results of the experiment demonstrated an increase in the concentration of participants when using technology, as well as a positive assessment of team interaction.
