Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on the Corporate Culture of Higher Education Institutions in Russia

The purpose of this paper is to identify the main changes in the corporate culture of higher educational institutions in Russia and to formulate recommendations for its maintenance. In accordance with this goal, the following tasks were completed: the theoretical foundations of corporate culture were studied, the uniqueness of the corporate culture of higher educational institutions was considered, a questionnaire was developed to study changes in the corporate culture of the NRU HSE, a questionnaire was conducted among students of the NRU HSE in order to determine the state of corporate culture, the results were analyzed and a comparative analysis of the HSE corporate culture before and after 03/18/2020 was carried out, recommendations were developed for maintaining the corporate culture of higher educational institutions during the COVID-19 pandemic in Russia. This goal was successfully achieved, changes in the corporate culture of higher educational institutions in Russia were identified using the example of the Higher School of Economics, and recommendations were developed for further strengthening and maintaining the corporate culture. During the research, various works on corporate culture were analyzed, models were defined and analyzed, and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the corporate culture of organizations and how the change in corporate culture affected the performance indicators of these organizations were studied. In addition, the influence of corporate culture on the work of higher educational institutions was studied, various indicators were established that directly depend on the strength of the corporate culture. Then, a questionnaire was developed, which was offered to HSE students in order to study changes in the corporate culture of the NRU HSE, and the results of which were analyzed and served as the basis for recommendations for higher educational institutions to maintain their corporate culture. The recommendations were also based on the experience of other organizations. This study will be relevant both for other higher education institutions and for other emergencies in the world that may lead to a change in corporate culture.
