The work is devoted to the study of the process of interaction between formal and non-formal education on the example of general education schools and Edtech startups. Using a combination of quantitative and qualitative research strategies, based on the collected data, the work identified and described the mechanisms of decision-making in Russian schools about interaction with Edtech startups. As a result of the study, it was possible to describe the prerequisites (conditions) for decision-making both at the level of teachers (individual) and at the level of school administration (organizational), as well as to identify the school's requests to Edtech startups, indicating the consequences of making decisions about partnership. As a result of the conducted analysis procedures, three types of models of the decision-making paradigm for interaction in schools were described.
