The final qualification work "The Problem of Increasing the Involvement of Secondary School Students in the Online Learning Process in 2020" is a study of the topic of online learning in the modern world, its opportunities and prospects for development in Russian secondary educational institutions. The main goal of this study is to answer the question "What awaits Russian educational institutions after the decline of the impact of the pandemic on the usual way of life of people? Will the online format remain a priority, and what do the participants of the educational process think about it?" The tasks that I face in the course of the work are: 1) To study and analyze the necessary literature on this problem 2) To analyze existing approaches to increase engagement in online learning 3) To analyze the tools used in online learning 4) To conduct a survey among the participants of the school educational process 5) To analyze the survey data obtained 6) On the basis of the conducted research, analyze the various outcomes that can be expected in the educational sphere in the near future As a result of the work done, the answer to the main question of the study was obtained. To date, Russian secondary educational institutions are not fully ready to change the mode of education to online as the experience of 2020 has shown. For the full implementation of this format both technical and organizational development is necessary. During a comprehensive analysis it was revealed that for 2021 there are many different tools to increase student engagement in online education, but many points require improvements for more efficient and comfortable work in the online space. Moreover, during the study the results of a survey of teachers and students were obtained which indicate a moral unwillingness to go online. The majority of respondents noted the reluctance to fully switch to the online format the main reason for this was the lack of live communication in this mode of learning and the lack of socialization.
