Organization of Children's Reading as One of the Main Forms of Leisure in Soviet Russia in the 1920s - 1930s

Leisure issues played an important role in Soviet Russia. Particular attention was paid to the formation of children's leisure, especially children’s reading as one of the most important forms of leisure. During this period, leisure was used for educational purposes, and for the purpose of the comprehensive development of the individual. To identify the features of the formation of the Soviet child-reader, articles by politicians and ideologists, as well as children's letters and articles to the magazines, are used. A comprehensive study of these two types of sources allows to reconstruct the picture of children's reading in the 1920s and 1930s. As a result, it turns out to identify the interests of children and their participation in the context of reading, which at the same time indicates a strong influence of children's literature on the formation of the views of readers.
